Luggage
Do you like to travel comfortably and don't feel like dragging your luggage around? A trolley or suitcase on wheels is your best friend!
This depends on what kind of trip you are going on and how much stuff you like to take with you. Your travel destination (sunny south or cold north) also plays an important role. However, a suitcase of 80 to 100 litres is generally not a luxury for a two-week trip. Do keep in mind that the larger the contents of the suitcase or travel bag, the more likely it is that you will use up all that space, resulting in a heavier trolley (and possibly extra charges from the airline).
On the website of Brussels Airport you will find a list of all prohibited items for your hand baggage and hold baggage but be aware that this may also differ for each airline. In your hand luggage, liquids are limited, and knives, scissors and other sharp objects are prohibited. Please note that you are not allowed to carry gas cartridges for a cooking stove in your hold luggage either.
All airlines have restrictions regarding the size of your (hand) luggage. Please check with your airline before departure or consult this list. Useful to know: the IATA standard is a hand luggage size that can be carried on most flights and measures H 55 x W 35 x D20 cm. If your hand luggage does not comply with the rules, you may be required to check in your trolley as hold baggage. The rules vary from one airline to another, so be sure to look it up in advance!
