As a vulnerable road user, you are exposed in traffic. Reduce the risk of an accident and make yourself visible. Not only is good lighting on your bicycle essential, but you must also wear high-visibility clothing (like a florescent reflective vest) so that you are clearly visible in traffic.

Mandatory equipment for an urban bicycle

A bell: must be heard from 20 metres away.
A headlight: white.
A taillight: red.
Pedal reflectors: yellow or orange, on both sides of the pedals.
Reflectors on the wheels or tyres.
Two properly functioning brakes: one on both the front and back wheels.
